Anzac Day - School Service

The morning of Saturday 25th April saw the main street of Tangambalanga busy with people of all ages, coming to the cenotaph to pay their respects to all those who had been involved in military conflicts.
Harper, Matilda and Patrick laid the wreath on behalf of the school at the 9am dawn service.

Our senior SRC students once again did a fabulous job in leading our Anzac Day Service here at school at 10:40am on Friday morning. Matilda Vickers and Liv Knight were ably supported by Beau Heffernan, Mackensie Billingsley, Patrick Adams and Harper Creber-Callaghan in welcoming members of our community and Mr Damian Ley of the Kiewa RSL who were in attendance. The students recited The Ode and led the school in respecting the playing of The Last Post and The Rouse, along with both country’s national anthems.

They spoke expertly and the student body in the audience should be commended on the respect and reverence they showed throughout the ceremony. I was in many classrooms during the week and saw the excellent discussions and learning that took place around ANZAC Day, why it is important and why we commemorate the occasion.

The majority of the Senor SRC and their families were also in attendance at the ANZAC Service on Saturday to represent our school and lay the school wreath at the base of the Tangambalanga Cenotaph.

Congratulations to everyone involved. We did our school proud.
