We were fortunate to welcome the Kiewa Catchment Landcare team to our school for a Cultural Workshop.
Along with Aunty Valda and Aunty Glennys, who generously shared their traditional weaving skills with students in Grades 3-5. Students explored a beautiful display of woven items ranging from jewellery to baskets, alongside a collection of traditional cultural artefacts, and listeing attentively as the visitors shared their knowledge and stories. It was also wonderful to see students confidently sharing their underdtanding of cultural artefacts and knowledge, drawing on the learning they have previously undertaken at school. The workshop provided a rich hands-on experience, with students then having the opportunity to try weaving their own pieces. We feel very privileged to have had this opportunity at our school and appreciate this ongoing partnership.
